This policy explains how Sentinel Credit, Inc. ("Sentinel," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our website (sentinel-credit.com) and the Sentinel Credit application (app.sentinel-credit.com) (together, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address, and the business profile you submit (company, role, intended use, and similar). We use this to create and administer your account and to review access requests.
Contact and access-request information. When you submit our Request Access or Contact forms, the information you provide (name, email, company, role, message, and similar) is transmitted to us via our form processor (Formspree) and delivered to our administrator inbox.
Financial inputs you analyze. When you use the Rate-a-Company workflow, the financial figures and statements you enter or upload are processed in your browser to produce analytical output. These raw inputs are not stored on Sentinel's servers. For public companies, Sentinel's backend retrieves public filings (e.g., SEC EDGAR) and market data (e.g., Financial Modeling Prep) on your behalf; those requests identify the ticker or company you queried.
Usage and technical data. Like most online services, our hosting and network providers process technical information such as IP address, browser type, and request logs for security, reliability, and abuse-prevention purposes.

2. How we use information

To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service;
To create and manage your account and review and approve access requests;
To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about the Service;
To monitor for, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Service providers

We share information with third-party processors who perform services on our behalf, under contractual obligations to protect it, including: Clerk (authentication and account management), Formspree (form submissions), Render (application hosting), Cloudflare (content delivery and security for our marketing site), and Financial Modeling Prep / public sources such as SEC EDGAR (financial data retrieval). Each provider processes information for the limited purpose of providing its service to us.

4. We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the financial data you analyze to train shared models or for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

5. Data retention

We retain account and contact information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Raw financial inputs analyzed in Rate-a-Company are not retained on our servers.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and logged, least-privilege access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA). 8. International users

We operate in the United States and process information there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be processed in the United States.

9. Children

The Service is intended for business use by professionals and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
